You must have played Twilight Princess at least once in order for this to work not the whole game just to the 1st save
Copy the 'private' directory from this archive to your SD card, overwriting any existing Zelda saves or previous versions of the hack. Find whatever homebrew you wish to run, copy it to the root of the SD card, and rename it to:
boot.dol or boot.elf.
Then, insert the SD card into your Wii, delete the existing Zelda savefile using the data mangement screen. Switch to the SD view, locate the right version of the hack for yourregion, and copy it over to your Wii.
If you have the USA version of the game, you must performan additional step; please see below. Launch the game.Select the Twilight Hack savegame, and load it. Once inside the game, walk backwards. Sit back and enjoy.

Since there are two released versions of Twilight Princess for the USA region, these users must first check the version of their game disc. Take your Zelda disc, flip it over so that the data side is facing you, and look for a small line of text next to the inner edge of the disc, between the raised circle of plastic and the data area. If the text reads "RVL-RZDE-0A-0", you have a v0 game and you should select the TwilightHack0 savegame. If the text reads "RVL-RZDE-0A-2", you have a v2 game and you should select the TwiilghtHack2 savegame. If you do not select the correct version of the save, the game will freeze andthe hack will not work.

Home Brew Channel

Install the Homebrew Channel (HBC) for this im just gonna paste an edited readme
After installing theTwilight Hack savegame, format an SD card (as FAT16; must be <=2GB, non-SDHC)
and place the contents of this distribution in the root directory of that card.
Boot.elf must be in the root directory, and you must have a directory named
"apps" inside the root directory (You can delete the wiiload files from the
SD card, as they are not needed.)
Execute the Twilight Hack, and it will load and run boot.elf from the SD card.
You will be presented with a disclaimer screen about the dangers of installing
this hack (discussed here as well, below); follow the instructions. After this
process has completed, you should have a new Homebrew Channel in your System
Menu. You may safely delete the boot.elf file from the SD card; it is no
longer needed.

Backups

To run Backups on the Wii you will need Backup Launcher 0.3 beta and firmware below 3.3 rev2 (October 23 update) at least until a later version is released this will also boot Truncha signed discs on 3.3

[1] Run 1. Install new cIOS By launching the cIOS Installer app and following prompts

Downgrade (required if you have the latest update)
you must have internet connectivity for it to work

It has been established that if you want to run homebrew and wads you will need to downgrade below the October 23rd Update to do so just follow these simple steps
How to Downgrade from 3.3E rev2 to 3.3E Or below should also work on 3.4 aswell as region U
Launch the homebrew channel (HBC)
[1] Install IO16-64-v257.wad with Wii Manager 1.3  (see below)
[2] Use wadmanagerios16 to install cios-fix.wad
[3] Now run IOS Downgrader-v1 follow prompts
[4] Now run CIOS downgrader-v1.2 selcet the firmware of choice Please stick to your region
You now have a Wii with your selecte firmware at the time of writing 3.2 is the best in my opinion
At times your Wii will need to reboot just follow the prompts on screen and when required
IF YOU CHOSE A DIFFERENT REGION FIRMWARE YOU WILL SEMI BRICK YOUR WII

To get this you will have to locate it yourself either google IOS16 or Wii Backup Disc v1 31 (Gayfish)(try torrents )
[1] Get Gayfish
[2] Download Wiiscrubber from www.wii4everybody.com
[3] launch wiiscrubber and click Load iso brows for the gayfish iso and open
[4]Click the + next to  Partition 1- UPDATE scroll down and click the + nect to _sysright click on IO16-64-v257-prod.wad and select extract save that where you can find it or dirctly into your Wad folder on your SD you now have IOS16

No modchip required for any of this
